Job Description

Job Purpose

Manage daily system engineering operations and lead technical teams to ensure peak infrastructure performance, reliability, and service compliance.

Oversee infrastructure planning, implementation, and lifecycle management to meet business requirements while maintaining strict budget adherence.

Enforce SLA standards, operational governance, and project milestone delivery to sustain system stability and departmental accountability.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and supervise a team of system engineers and executives (EG07–EG09) to ensure high performance, technical capability, and service delivery standards.

2. Manage annual departmental budgeting, including CAPEX and OPEX planning, to control infrastructure expenditure and align resources with operational priorities.

3. Ensure infrastructure services meet or exceed agreed SLAs and OLAs to maintain service reliability and business continuity.

4. Design and implement technical infrastructure solutions to address evolving business needs and operational requirements.

5. Oversee the administration of enterprise IT systems (Active Directory, Email, Virtualization, SCCM, SharePoint, and Azure Cloud) to sustain secure and stable operations.

6. Approve and govern system change requests and technical refresh initiatives to ensure controlled change management and infrastructure modernization.

7. Plan and execute patching, security maintenance, and system upgrades to mitigate vulnerabilities and maintain rigorous compliance standards.

8. Manage backup operations, data restoration testing, and disaster recovery (DR) planning to ensure infrastructure resilience and recovery readiness.

9. Provide technical guidance, training, and performance oversight to subordinates to strengthen team competency and operational effectiveness.

10. Monitor and report infrastructure performance metrics and project progress to IT leadership to ensure milestone achievement and operational transparency.

Qualification and Experience

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field; professional certifications (MCSE, VCP, PMP, or VMCE) are considered a strong advantage.

2. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in system administration, including proven supervisory exposure and the ability to lead and develop technical teams.

3. Advanced expertise in Microsoft ecosystem (Server OS, AD, Exchange, SharePoint, SCCM, O365, Azure) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, RDS, Clustered Servers).

4. Proven experience administering enterprise backup systems, disaster recovery (DR) frameworks, and business continuity planning (BCP).

5. Working knowledge of database administration (MS SQL, Oracle), remote support tools, and the management of enterprise infrastructure lifecycles (patching, upgrades, and refreshes).

6. Strong understanding of IT governance, security standards, and regulatory compliance, with the capability to lead structured incident management and root cause analysis (RCA).

7. Effective stakeholder communication and project coordination skills to bridge technical initiatives with business unit requirements and senior management.
