Job Description
OVERVIEW
Lead strategic production planning by aligning sales forecasts, inventory policies, and manufacturing capacity across multiple lines or plants to ensure sustainable on-time delivery. Drive operational excellence by integrating production schedules with long-term maintenance strategies, material procurement, and manpower planning to maximize efficiency and minimize cost. Champion continuous improvement, workforce capability development, and new product introduction readiness to strengthen competitiveness and overall business performance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Formulate mid- to long-term production strategies that balance demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and inventory targets at the plant or regional level.
2. Direct and approve daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules developed by planners, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivery commitments.
3. Lead cross-functional coordination with Maintenance, Procurement, Quality, and Engineering to synchronize production, material flow, and equipment availability.
4. Oversee product and former changeover strategies, optimizing resource allocation and downtime management across lines.
5. Define and monitor production KPIs, analyzing performance trends to identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for cost reduction.
6. Establish policies and frameworks for manpower forecasting, deployment, and skill development to ensure operational readiness.
7. Provide leadership in Operational Trial Planning (OTP) and New Introduction Readiness (NI4), ensuring smooth integration of new materials and products into mass production.
8. Champion best practices in production planning, changeover optimization, and inventory management to drive standardization across operations.
9. Review and approve training frameworks, manuals, and SOPs for production planning and execution, ensuring alignment with compliance and audit standards.
10. Represent the Production Planning function in management reviews, budget discussions, and strategic decision-making forums.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any related field (Master’s Degree or professional certification is an added advantage)
Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years as an Assistant Manager
- Minimum 5 to 7 years in a Managerial role, preferably overseeing multiple teams or functions
