Job Description
OVERVIEW:
Assist the QA Manager in overseeing in-process inspections (QAI), pre-shipment inspections (PSI), and incoming packaging checks. Ensure effective implementation of quality systems, compliance with procedures, and that all products meet defined specifications and regulatory/customer requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business / Operations
- Identify and resolve deviations from procedures in QAI and PSI.
- Review, maintain, and update QA documentation (SOPs, WIs, forms, samples).
- Oversee inspections at in-process and final stages to ensure compliance with AQL, regulatory, and customer standards.
- Ensure accurate record control per Records Management SOP.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to reinforce standards and changes.
- Perform internal audits, root cause analysis (RCA), and lead CAPA to drive continuous improvement.
- Support other assignments as required by superior.
QAI – In-Process Inspection
- Supervise hourly inspections and hot box testing for compliance.
- Review inspection reports, analyse defects, and escalate to Production for corrective action.
- Monitor defect trends and collaborate with stakeholders for improvements.
- Investigate QAI non-compliance, ensuring timely resolution and reporting.
- Work with Production and Packing to sustain quality improvements.
- Ensure segregation/labelling of inspected goods and calibration of equipment.
PSI – Pre-Shipment Inspection
- Plan, schedule, and enforce PSI activities for timely release of products.
- Supervise PSI staff and packaging inspection team, ensuring competency through training and assessment.
- Review and approve product disposition in absence of QA Manager.
- Ensure accurate PSI reports, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Investigate inspection failures, initiate CAPA, and track implementation.
- Monitor PSI failure trends and drive preventive measures.
- Oversee incoming packaging material inspections, liaise with suppliers on quality issues, and manage SCAR process.
- Conduct SCAR analysis and report trends to Central QA.
- Coordinate external inspections and sterilization dose audits.
People / Stakeholder Management
- Provide coaching, training, and guidance to subordinates for daily operations.
- To provide training and guidance to new employee (Supervisor).
- Monitor performance, attendance, and discipline of subordinates with Supervisors.
- Evaluate new employees (Group Leader level and above) during probation.
- Conduct training evaluations to ensure effectiveness and continuous development.
- Ensure sufficient tools, equipment, and facilities for efficient and safe operations.
Any other tasks assigned by superior.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science/ Engineering or any related field
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of working experience in manufacturing environment or fresh graduates.
Technical and Professional Knowledge:
- Quality control and troubleshooting tools and techniques.
