Job Description
Job Purpose
Drive the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical engineering works for glove plant construction, installation, and commissioning.
Oversee the installation and commissioning of glove dipping line equipment, piping, utilities, and support structures to meet design, quality, and safety standards.
Coordintate and leading Civil, Electrical, and Control teams toward successful project completion.
Responsibilities
1. Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals, plans, and mechanical engineering requirements.
2. Plan and schedule mechanical installation work for glove production lines and plant expansion projects.
3. Prepare detailed work plans, manpower allocation charts, and material requirement lists for project execution.
4. Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, and Control teams to achieve full system integration across the production line.
5. Design, review, and interpret mechanical drawings, P and ID diagrams, layout plans, and equipment specifications.
6. Optimise plant layouts to improve equipment accessibility, maintenance efficiency, and operational safety.
7. Supervise on-site mechanical installation work and verify workmanship quality against design standards.
8. Coordinate commissioning activities and validate equipment performance against design parameters and operational criteria.
9. Prepare and maintain all project documentation, including tender packages, progress reports, checklists, test reports, monthly reports, and as-built drawings.
10. Deliver complete project handover documentation, manage site readiness and safety compliance, liaise with contractors on installation and quality matters, and execute additional assigned project tasks.
Qualification and Experience
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Project Management or Mechanical preferred) or a related field.
2. Fresh graduate or minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. Knowledge of project management principles and basic piping and mechanical design concepts.
4. Understanding of lean manufacturing methods, operational efficiency practices, and continuous improvement tools such as process mapping, RCA, 5S, and kaizen.
5. Ability to use basic engineering software and tools, including Microsoft Project, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
