Job Description
OVERVIEW
The incumbent is fully accountable for end-to-end procurement performance, covering strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost optimisation, and procurement governance. The role provides strategic leadership, commercial decision-making, and functional governance to ensure supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and alignment with business strategy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage procurement operations and strategic sourcing activities to meet business, production, and cost objectives.
- Conduct spend analysis and develop annual strategic sourcing plans, budgets, and procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Monitor and forecast stock requirements to support uninterrupted production and operational continuity.
- Lead strategic sourcing, alternate sourcing, and price negotiation activities to achieve cost targets and commercial objectives.
- Prepare, issue, evaluate, and approve tender documents (RFP, RFQ, RFI) and tender submissions in accordance with established criteria.
- Draft, review, and finalise purchasing contracts and agreements in collaboration with legal advisors.
- Lead and manage vendor performance reviews, establish vendor performance metrics, and drive improvement actions.
- Establish, maintain, and govern procurement systems, procedures, and ERP records to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Lead, coach, and develop procurement team members, including performance management, capability development, and succession planning.
- Build and manage effective relationships with internal stakeholders, influence decision-making, and resolve escalated procurement issues.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or any related field from a recognised institution.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain functions, including exposure to sourcing and operational procurement, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Preferably in a manufacturing industry
Technical and Professional Knowledge:
- Strategic sourcing methodologies, including spend analysis, category planning, and alternate sourcing
- Contract management and commercial negotiation, including final approval of terms and supplier awards
- Vendor governance and performance management, including KPI definition and corrective action
- Procurement cost management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation initiatives
- Procurement systems and data governance, ensuring data integrity, controls, and reporting accuracy
- Scrap and waste management governance, including compliance, vendor control, and risk exposure
- Procurement strategy ownership
- Commercial negotiation and decision-making
- Supplier governance and risk management

- People leadership and capability development
