MANAGER - SUPPLY PLANNING

Job Description

OVERVIEW

  • Responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, controlling and managing of Production Planning section within manufacturing to ensure timely, efficient and accurate results
  • Monitor the execution of the optimal plan developed by the Sales & Operations (S&OP) and weekly planning cycles
  • Ensure that the defined escalation rules are being followed to address unplanned supply and demand imbalances
  • Drive measurable improvement in on-time, delivery. Productivity, and customer satisfaction
     

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead teams responsible for shop scheduling and planning/ control, including warehouse and inventory management
  • Apply “hands-on” production planning and scheduling expertise in the ERP environment
  • Develop ERP tools to improve the efficiency and transparency of schedules and cost elements
  • Develop master schedule and capacity plans for all areas of the manufacturing shop
  • Review and validate of inventory norms at a timely frequency based on demand-supply variability, lead times and desired service levels and make suitable updates
  • Ensure Materials Requirement Plan, Inventory Plan and Production Plan are done timely and accurately
  • Act as Supply Planning focal point (by site) and lead cross functional collaborations with sales, central planning, production, warehouse and shipping
  • Handle operational issues related to planning
  • Works with Demand Planner to resolve supply/demand imbalances
  • Monitor key metrics at overall level and review at site
  • Oversee TMP, WIP and PM Availability (by site)
  • Prepare and chair Production Buyoff Meeting (by site)
  • Represent Supply Planning side (for supply nodes in scope) in the pre-S&OP and S&OP meeting
  • Ensure adherence to the S&OP plan by identifying and resolving any exceptions
  • Any other duties or tasks as assigned by superior
     

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years relevant working experience in production planning and scheduling (PPC) in a manufacturing environment
  • Preferably on high volume process industry
  • Working knowledge of planning and inventory control fundamentals
  • Working knowledge on ERP system preferably with knowledge on implementation
  • Understanding of Lean principles and practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Office program
  • A strong work ethic, organization skills, and people skills are required
  • Should Excel at communication with company management, customer and suppliers
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment is needed
  • Excellent leadership skills are required with a demonstrated ability to achieve results through motivating and developing others · Ability to influence and gain commitment at all levels of the organization
