Job Description

Job Purpose

Operate, inspect, and maintain CoGeneration, Boiler, and Solar PV systems on a daily basis to support safe, compliant, and reliable energy supply for plant operations under senior supervision.

Responsibilities

1. Operate CoGeneration systems, including gas turbines or engines, alternators, and auxiliary equipment in accordance with approved operating procedures.

2. Monitor plant operating parameters such as fuel flow, temperature, vibration, efficiency, and load, reporting alarms or abnormal conditions.

3. Carry out start-up and shutdown activities, including synchronisation and load adjustments within safe operating limits.

4. Perform operational checks on hot water boiler systems, covering pressure, temperature, flue gas conditions, blowdown, and water treatment dosing.

5. Monitor Solar PV system performance through SCADA or monitoring platforms, tracking inverter output, grid export, and fault notifications.

6. Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for CoGen, Boiler, and Solar systems, including cleaning, lubrication, and component replacement.

7. Participate in statutory inspections and servicing works, coordinating with contractors and preparing systems for audits and certifications.

8. Maintain housekeeping standards and proper tool condition in control rooms, turbine halls, boiler houses, and MCC rooms.

9. Comply with HSE procedures and statutory regulations, applying correct PPE usage and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.

10. Record operational readings and maintenance activities accurately in logbooks, CMMS, or designated systems for supervisory review.

Qualification and Experience

1. Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Plant Technology (MQA recognized) or any related field.

2. Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in mechanical/electrical fields is acceptable.

3. Fresh graduates or minimum 1 year of relevant experience in Facilities, Utilities, or Power Plant operations.

4. Experience in turbine, boiler, or solar system operations is an advantage.
